@No Favor!! yes those cars are build like a brick yes the parts may be expensive if you buy them new but at least where I came from there is huge second hand market and if you are willing to do the work yourself or have a trusted mechanic you will experience luxury that you simply can't get anywhere else even for allot more money (I am writing this because Scotty answer will be just NO to expensive bla bla....)

Scotty, I cannot find technical clarity on why people switch to thicker oil in summer. Question: can 0w-20 oil withstand summer temperatures above 98 degrees? What’s the highest ambient temperature 0w-20 can safely withstand in all City driving conditions?
      Thank you

Right hand drive car is not safe for passing if you are in Germany where they actually follow the rule of slower traffic keeping to the right. Here in the States, too many people "have it all figured out for themselves" differently.

Another problem I've encountered with having the "wrong" hand drive for the country you're in was parking lots. You have to unbuckle and reach across the car to get the ticket. Every time your go round a corner that the steering wheel is on you can't see and have crawl round. It's a hassle. It also feels like you are driving in the gutter the whole time! (I lived in the UK and would drive through Europe occasionally)

Passing people--yes that would be difficult, but at least there is the option of not passing. What about lefthand turns? Not as much of an option there. Never make lefthand turns? Or only when all opposing lanes are clear? Never have a daily driver with steering wheel on the wrong side. Basically the car becomes a car for country roads.

Ok Scotty, an era long question for you that has been in my mind ever since I was a
long-haul trucker for 9 years, and got many differing opinions upon.
Tractor trailer diesels get crap mileage compared to cars, but if the a car was pulling the loads of a semi, I had figured it would take about FORTY cars to pull that load, and let's say, at an efficiency of say, 18mpg, would approximate around POINT .45mpg! (Which decimates the ”Oh, trucks are the most polluting") argument.
Howevvah...what if you took an 8mpg average semi truck engine under load and put it into a 3k lb. pickup truck, along with the high-geared semi transmission, now UNLOADED from 80,000lbs. to, say, 4500 or so lbs...
It is my distinct impression that this rig would not only be able to surpass the conventional mileage of any pickup, but be able to pull more weight (NOT semi level loads), but last easily more than a million miles, which is not uncommon for a well- maintained semi.
                                                        Your opinions always well respected.

It's the startups of your car that put the most wear on your engine. I change my engine oil every 50 hours of operational use. Which usually works out to about five thousand miles. Sometimes 3000 if I do a lot of City driving.

But Scotty has been telling this forever, but for sure oils has changed and got better, but if you're not doing long trips all the time you need to think about doing frequent changes, 3-5000 on old, and 5000-7000-10000 on new as a rule of thumb.. But all i wrote here Scotty already covered numerous times..

The spectrum test shows all the oil additives and if there was a outside contaminate like antifreeze or even if a different oil was mixed with it. If it is proven that the oil caused the problem barring all other factors, the oil company has to pay period. it's just knowing how to prove it. Also most log drain interval oil have guidelines, always read them. They may require you to have a mechanic change the oil so the mileage etc is written down and legal. There may be a special high end filter you have to use. Just little things that if you do not follow these things they don't have to pay you one cent.
